US Stock Market Hours
The stock market hours for all of the US stock exchanges are Monday – Friday and from the following hours:
Regular Trading hours: 9:30am – 4:00pm Eastern Standard Time (EST)
Pre-market trading hours: 8:00 AM – 9:30 AM Eastern Time (EST)
Post-market trading hours: 4:00 PM – 6:30 PM Eastern Time (EST)
Stock exchange hours are from 9:30 AM and closes at 4:00 PM Eastern Time, there is also pre-market trading and post-market trading hours. The pre-Market stock exchange hours for stock trading is from 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM Eastern Time, and the After-Market hours are from 4:00 PM until 6:30 PM Eastern Time.
ABOUT STOCK EXCHANGE PRE-MARKET & POST-MARKET HOURS
Along with normal trading hours, investors can trade in the Pre-Market (8:00-9:30 a.m. ET) and the After Hours Market (4:00-8:00 p.m. ET). Participation from Market Makers and ECNs is strictly voluntary and as a result, these sessions may offer less liquidity and inferior prices. Stock prices may also move more quickly in this environment. Investors who anticipate trading during these times are strongly advised to use limit orders.
HOLIDAYS
The stock market is open Monday through Friday except on national or special holidays and may close early for special occasions. Some holidays that the market is closed on include:

UK STOCK MARKET HOURS
The London Stock Exchange hours of trading are 08:00 to 16:30
Normal trading sessions on the main orderbook (SETS) are Monday-Friday from 08:00 to 16:30, except holidays which are declared by the Exchange in advance. The detailed schedule is as follows:
Trade Reporting 07:15 – 07:50
Opening Auction 07:50 – 08:00
Continuous Trading 08:00 – 16:20
Closing Auction 16:30 – 16:35
Order Maintenance 16:35 – 17:00
Trade Reporting Only 17:00 – 17:15
Holidays are currently: New Year’s Day, Easter, May Bank Holiday, Spring Bank Holiday, Summer Bank Holiday, and Christmas Day. Note that UK Time is Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), with daylight-saving time observed.
AUSTRALIAN STOCK MARKET HOURS
Normal stock market hours for the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) takes place from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, Sydney time.
